- Measure. Wrap a tape measure around your head about 1 cm above your eyebrows, at the widest point.
- Match the size chart. Typical adult sizes: S ≈ 52–55.5 cm, M ≈ 55.5–59 cm, L ≈ 59–61.5 cm. When between sizes, try both - brands differ.
- Set the dial. The rear adjustment wheel should lock snugly around the base of the skull - a "hugging" feel, not a painful one.
- Check the position. The front rim sits about two finger-widths above the eyebrows. If the helmet tips forward or backward, adjust the straps at the Y-junction.
- Do the shake test. Fasten the chin strap (snug enough that two fingers barely fit underneath) and shake your head vigorously. The helmet should not shift more than ~1 cm or slide over your forehead.
