E-bikes are considered non-motorized vehicles and do not require a driver's license. Anyone 16 years or older can ride them on the road. However, riders must wear a helmet, follow non-motorized vehicle traffic rules, and ride in non-motorized vehicle lanes. If non-motorized vehicle lanes are not available, keep to the right side of the road.
E-scooters are considered motor vehicles and have stricter roadside requirements. Drivers must be at least 18 years old and hold the appropriate driver's license. For example, an F license is required for an electric moped (D or E licenses are also acceptable), while an E license is required for an electric motorcycle (D license is also acceptable). E-scooters must also carry compulsory motor vehicle insurance, undergo regular annual inspections, and must be driven in the rightmost lane of a motorway.
